A mother's journey that became a mission to help other families navigate complex care with compassion, organization, and hope.
Welcome to Neda Family Operations LLC.
I'm so glad you found me.
Today, I want to tell you my story.
My name is Neda, but I'm more commonly known as "Waseem's Mom."
Being Waseem's mom has required me to become so much more than just his mother. I've had to become his caregiver, advocate, researcher, scheduler, care coordinator, and, at times, I felt like I had to become his doctor too.
For so many years, we struggled alone.
When my son got sick, no one knew what was wrong with him. Even worse, no one seemed interested in finding out. Doctor after doctor insisted he was fine. They told us it was "just autism." They told us to accept the diagnosis and move forward. There was no room to question it.
So I tried.
Until one day, when Waseem was four years old, he began having uncontrollable squeaking and clenching tics.
I begged him to stop.
I begged him over and over again.
Then he looked at me and said something I will never forget:
"Mommy... the body won't stop."
In that moment, everything changed.
I knew, with every part of my being, that something was terribly wrong.
I remember how lost my husband and I felt. How lonely it was to carry the weight of knowing something was wrong while no one believed us.
No one was coming to save our little boy.
That was the moment I knew I had to save my son.
I researched for years.
I searched for doctors, treatments, resources, and answers. I followed more dead ends than I care to admit. I spent countless nights reading instead of sleeping, hoping that one more article, one more phone call, or one more specialist would finally give us the answer we were searching for.
Eventually, we learned that Waseem had Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome “PANS”. Waseem’s immune system was attacking his brain.
I wish I could tell you that everything got better after that. But you are here, so you know better than to believe that.
It didn't.
That diagnosis wasn't the end of our journey.
It was the beginning of a new one.
Today, Waseem has autism, ADHD, and PANS.
Those are his diagnoses. They are not him. My son is a fighter. He fights harder than anyone I’ve ever known and I am forever in awe of his courage and perseverance.
Waseem’s journey taught me something.
The appointments never end.
The paperwork never ends.
The phone calls never end.
The insurance battles never end.
The research never ends.
The to-do list never ends.
And perhaps the hardest part of all is how lonely it feels.
No one comes to your house and says, "Let me make those calls for you."
No one says, "I'll organize the paperwork."
No one says, "I'll keep track of the appointments."
You're expected to somehow carry it all while still raising your other children, showing up to work, paying the bills, maintaining your relationships, and functioning as though your entire world isn't falling apart.
The truth is, the world doesn't stop because your child is struggling.
Your employer still expects you to show up.
The laundry still needs to be done.
Dinner still needs to be made.
Your other children still need their mom.
The bills still have to be paid.
Life keeps moving, even when your heart feels like it's standing still.
Somehow, you're expected to carry it all.
And somehow, you do.
That's why I started Neda Family Operations.
Not because I have all the answers.
But because I know what it feels like to carry a weight that was never meant to be carried alone.
Our stories may not be the same. Your child may have different diagnoses, different needs, and a different journey. But if you've ever felt overwhelmed, exhausted, and alone while trying to hold everything together, then we have more in common than you might think.
I want you to know that I see you.
I am you.
More importantly, I'm here for you.
I can't take away your pain.
I can't promise an easy road.
But I can help carry the load.
Because every parent deserves someone in their corner.
And no one should have to do this alone.
Dear Waseem,
I am sure you are reviewing every section of this website, thinking about how to improve it and make it better, so I figured I would leave you a little note.
First of all, I am so happy that you and I made it here.
I want you to know that raising you has been the biggest challenge of my life. It has challenged and pushed me in ways I never thought possible. It has broken me and put me back together a million times. And yet, it has been the honor of my life to help save yours.
I am forever proud of you.
You have taught me what it means to be strong. What it means to be resilient. What it means to show up when you are sick, embarrassed, angry, or afraid, and to try over and over and over again.
You make every sacrifice and every tear worth it. Seeing you thrive has been the greatest joy of my life.
I know you had no choice, but thank you for being my son.
Better days are here. Better days are coming.
I love you. Now and forever.
Mom
